🕯️ The Deception of “Harmless Fun”
Every year on October 31st, millions celebrate Halloween — a day filled with costumes, jack-o-lanterns, haunted houses, and parties. To many, it’s “just for fun,” a chance to dress up and eat candy. But behind the colorful masks and plastic pumpkins lies a history steeped in witchcraft, pagan rituals, and rebellion against YAHAWAH 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
Even churches today host Halloween-themed events, unaware that the day they imitate was once dedicated to invoking spirits and performing occult rituals. To understand why this matters, we must go back to the beginning — to where it all began.
🌒 The Origin of Halloween: Samhain and Witchcraft
Over 1,300 years ago in the British Isles, followers of an ancient “nature religion” called Wicca honored the earth, the moon, and the stars. The word Wicca means “wise ones,” from which the term witch is derived.
These witches met in covens of 13, stood “sky-clad” (naked), and performed rituals under the full moon. They drew hexagrams, chanted incantations, and called on elemental spirits of earth, wind, fire, water, and spirit.
The most sacred night to them was Samhain (pronounced SOW-EEN), an ancient Celtic festival, typically celebrated from sunset on October 31 to sunset on November 1, that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It is considered the Celtic new year and is a time when the veil between the world of the living and the spirit world is believed to thin, allowing ghosts and spirits to return to Earth. Witches believed spirits of the dead could cross over into the world of the living — and they sought to communicate with them through spells, sacrifices, and fire rituals.
🔥 The Druids and the “Trick or Treat” Origin
Among the ancient Druids (priest, magician, or soothsayer in the ancient Celtic religion.) Samhain was also their most important night of power. These men, dressed in white robes, worshipped “Herne The Hunter of the night”(a ghostly figure from British folklore) — a clear counterfeit to YAHAWAH’s 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 righteousness.
They went from village to village demanding “treats” — often human sacrifices. Those who refused were marked with blood and hexagrams, sealing their fate for death that night. Those who complied received a carved pumpkin lit with a candle made from human fat — the first Jack-o-Lantern — a sign that they had offered tribute and were “protected.”
What we now call a bonfire was originally the “bone-fire”, where victims were sacrificed, and villagers took the embers to light their hearts for “good luck.” But in truth, these were rituals of death and demonic worship.
🕸️ The Catholic Connection and Pagan Blending
When pagan customs spread across Europe, the Roman Catholic Church adopted and renamed the witches’ festivals.
- Samhain became Halloween (All Hallows’ Eve).
- Yule became Christmas.
- Imbolc became Candlemas’s.
- Beltane became May Day.
- Lughnasadh became Lammas.
- The Vernal Equinox became Easter — always timed by the moon, not Scripture.
In doing so, the church attempted to “Christianize” what was never holy — merging the clean with the unclean, light with darkness. But YAHAWAH 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 never permits this mixture.
“Learn not the way of the heathen” Yaramayah 𐤉𐤓𐤌𐤉𐤄 (Jeremiah 10:2).
🍂 The Hidden Deception: “Harvest Day” and Church Alternatives
In modern times, many churches claim to avoid Halloween yet celebrate it under new names, such as Harvest Day, Fall Festival, or Trunk or Treat. These events are usually held on the same night, include the same decorations, costumes, and candy, and continue the same spirit of compromise.
Though the name has changed, the foundation remains the same — a blending of the holy with the unholy.
YAHAWAH’s 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 Word warns against copying the traditions of the nations. Whether it is called “Halloween” or “Harvest Day,” if it honors the same spirit of the ancient Samhain, it remains spiritually defiled.
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
— Mashalayam 𐤌𐤔𐤋𐤉𐤌 (Proverbs 14:12)
💀 The Spiritual Reality Behind Halloween
Halloween is not harmless fun. It’s a revival of the same ancient rituals that honor Satan and unclean spirits. Every costume, ghost story, and “haunted house” today reflects the same symbols, practices, and energies used by witches and Druids thousands of years ago.
The modern world may disguise it with candy and laughter, but YAHAWAH’s 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 Word is clear:
“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am YAHAWAH 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Ahlawah 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄.”
— Wayaqara 𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 (Leviticus 19:31)
“There shall not be found among you anyone… that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.”
— Dabarayam 𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
“But the fearful, and unbelieving… and sorcerers… shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.”
— Chazawan 𐤇𐤆𐤅𐤍 (Revelation 21:8)
🕯️ We Are Call To Come Out From Among Them
As the world grows darker, the enemy continues to disguise evil as entertainment. But YAHAWAH 𐤉𐤓𐤌𐤉𐤄 calls His people to be set apart. We are not to decorate our homes as tombs, wear masks of demons, or allow our children to imitate what the Scriptures call abomination.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
— Ahpayasayayam 𐤀𐤐𐤉𐤎𐤉𐤉𐤌 (Ephesians 5:11)
Final Word from Praise and Proof Ministries
Halloween may appear harmless, but its roots are soaked in blood and rebellion. There is nothing right about it. It celebrates death, fear, and deception — all of which stand in direct opposition to the light of YAHAWASHI 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏.
Let us not conform to the world, but stand as children of light, exposing the darkness and walking in truth. Share this truth with love, and guide others to discernment. For as Scripture says,
“Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.”
— Chazawan 𐤇𐤆𐤅𐤍 (Revelation 18:4)
